The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swim team suffered a 157-48 setback at the University of Mary Washington Saturday afternoon in a Capital Athletic Conference meet. The loss dropped the Seahawks to 2-5 overall (2-3 CAC), while Mary Washington improved to 4-1 (4-0 CAC).
200 Medley Relay: The foursome of sophomores Gabe Grace (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytech) and Aaron Page (Keene, N.H./Keene), freshman Troy Kent, and senior Michael Preston (Pasadena, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) finished third in 1:46.27.
1000 Free: Senior captain Joey Quase (Montgomery Village, Md./Good Counsel) placed third in 10:56.11, while fellow team captain Chris Cammarata (Towson, Md./Loyola Blakefield) came in fifth in 11:46.88.
200 Free: Junior Cam Buckingham (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) took second in 1:51.97, while Joe Kelly was fourth in 1:59.24.
50 Free: Sophomore Jackson Webb (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) finished third in 23.16, while Page took fifth in 24.18.
200 IM: Preston placed second in 2:06.64, while Grace was third in 2:10.73.
100 Fly: Freshman Troy Kent went fourth in 58.29, while Kelly took fifth in 58.84.
100 Free: Buckingham was third in 50.66, while freshman Ron Michael (Sykesville, Md./McDonogh) placed fifth in 54.41.
100 Back: Grace finished second in 59.83, while sophomore Nico Pinto (Lima, Peru) was third in 1:00.97.
500 Free: Quase came in fourth in 5:21.70, while Kelly was fifth in 5:26.59.
100 Breast: Preston took third in 1:06.34, while Page was fourth in 1:06.77 and Pinto fifth (1:10.00).
400 Free Relay: Senior Bobby Wiley (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook), Buckingham, Kent, and Webb swam a 3:40.08 to finish third.
The Seahawks will be back in the pool next Saturday, January 24 when St. Mary’s travels to Salisbury to take on Salisbury in a league meet at 1:00.

1000 Free: Senior captain Nat Schaefer (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) placed fourth in 11:27.33, while junior Laura VanBlargan (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) was fifth in 11:56.47.
200 Free: Hotchko took second in 2:03.71, while junior Monika Disque (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) placed fifth in 2:09.02.
50 Free: Koerner placed first in 25.44, while junior Dominique Perez (Rockville, Md./Holy Child) was fifth in 26.73.

100 Free: Koerner placed second in 55.42, while freshman Christina DiMenna (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) was fifth in 59.17.
100 Back: McDowell came in first in 1:00.50, while Disque placed fifth in 1:06.34.
500 Free: Schaefer was fourth in 5:42.62, while VanBlargan took fifth in 5:47.13.
100 Breast: Sokolove finished second in 1:13.45, while freshman Amanda Pazouki (Silver Spring, Md./JFK) was fourth in 1:15.14.
400 Free Relay: Perez, Disque, sophomore Arielle Webster (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford) and DiMenna placed third in 3:58.13.
