Thuerk, Kaduboski Lead Bentley During Day 2 of NEISDA Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. , February 21st, 2009           

Second-place finishes by senior Kristen Thuerk (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) and sophomore Anne Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) topped the list of performances for the Bentley University women’s swimming team during Saturday’s second day of completion in the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships at UMass-Dartmouth.

Bentley will enter Sunday’s final day of competition in second place, with its score of 563 points placing the Falcons 86 back of Keene State.  A total of 22 teams have scored in the meet.

Thuerk’s second came in the 1000 yard freestyle, with a time of 11:06.41. Kaduboski was the runner-up in the 50 butterfly, her time of 26.84 eight-hundredths of a second shy of her own school record.

Those two were also a part of Bentley’s 800 free relay team that finished second in 8:03.74. The relay team also included junior Carolyn Connelly (Palm Desert, Calif./Palm Desert HS) and freshman Susie Boretti (Westford/Westford Academy).

In the 200 medley relay, the Bentley quartet of Kaduboski, Connolly, and seniors Breda O’Connor (Dedham/Ursuline Academy) and Kaitlin Chepeleff (Vernon, Conn./Rockville HS) were third with a time of 1:54.54.

Chepeleff had Bentley’s only fourth place showing of day two after swimming the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.43.

The championships will resume at 10 am Sunday with the final round following at 5 pm.
