Modrov Siblings, Breaststroke Record-Breaker Highlight National Honors

A National record for Aleksander Hetland (University of Tampa) and multiple meet records for Olivia Zaleski (Denison University) earned them the Counsilman Hunsaker National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week honors. Priscilla Modrov (Rider University), Drew Modrov (Rider University), Elaina Hogle (Wayne State University), and John Geissinger (Denison University) also earned the award. This is the first time a brother and sister pair have won the award. The six were selected based on their performances February 9-15.

had three wins to help her team win the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.  The senior won the 4000 individual medley (4:17.55, meet record), the 200 individual medley (2:01.60, meet record) and the 200 butterfly (1:58.82, NCAA "B" time, meet record).  Modrov also assisted on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:34.08, meet record), the winning 400 medley relay (3:48.54, meet record), the winning 800 freestyle relay (7:35.59, meet record), and the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:26.56, meet record)

Division I Men
Drew Modrov, RiderModrov University
Modrov (Smithtown, NY) had three wins to help his team to a second place finish at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.  The sophomore won the 50 freestyle (19.73, NCAA "B" time, meet record), the 200 freestyle (1:39.09, meet record) and the 100 freestyle (44.26, meet record).  Modrov also assisted on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:21.45, meet record), the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:00.59, meet record), the second place 400 medley relay (3:18.66) and the second place 200 medley relay (1:31.15).

Division II Women

Hogle (Kentwood, MI) had two wins to help her team to a second place finish at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.  The junior won the 400 individual medley (4:26.52, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the 200 butterfly (2:02.02, NCAA "A" time, meet record) and swam to a second place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:05.87, NCAA "A" time).   Hogle also assisted on the winning 800 freestyle relay (7:31.19, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:28.57, NCAA "A", meet record), the winning 400 medley relay (3:47.37, NCAA "A" time, meet record) and the fourth place 200 freestyle relay (1:36.92).

Division II Men

Hetland (Oslo, Norway) had two wins to help his team to a second place finish at the Blue Grass Mountain Conference Championships.  The senior won the 200 individual medley (1:48.43, NCAA "A" time, meet record) and the 100 breaststroke (53.04, NCAA "A" time, meet record, national record).  The All-American also assisted on the winning 400 medley relay (3:20.36, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the second place 200 freestyle relay (1:22.45, NCAA "A" time) and the second place 200 medley relay (1:30.25, NCAA "A" time, meet record).

Division III Women

Zaleski (Corry, PA) had three wins to help her team win the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.  The junior won the 50 freestyle (21.19, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the 100 butterfly (54.84, NCAA "A" time, meet record) and the 100 backstroke (55.78, NCAA "A" time, meet record).  The All-American also assisted on the winning 400 medley relay (3:45.79, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:32.95, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the winning 200 medley relay (1:41.17, NCAA "A" time, meet record) and the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:24.80, NCAA "A" time, meet record).

Division III Men

Geissinger (Darien, CT) had three wins to help his team win the North Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.  The senior won the 50 freestyle (19.98, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the 200 freestyle (1:37.33, NCAA "A" time, meet record), and the 100 freestyle (43.96, NCAA "A" time, meet record).  The All-American also assisted on the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:18.96, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:20.89, NCAA "A" time, meet record), the winning 400 freestyle relay (2:59.53, NCAA "A" time, meet record) and the winning 800 freestyle relay (6:39.05, NCAA "A" time, meet record).
