Virginia Invite - Day Three

Kansas

Kansas swimming finished the third and final day of the University of Virginia Cavalier Invitational in second place. The Jayhawks earned 799 points during the three-day event.

"The UVA invite was a great way to conclude the fall season," Kansas Head Coach Clark Campbell said. "We used this meet as sort of a mid-term exam and we passed with flying colors. The entire team is looking forward to the rest of the season."

Junior Iuliia Kuzhil competed in the 200-yard backstroke, earning second place with a time of 1:58.69.

In the 200-yard butterfly, junior Brittany Potter placed third with a final time of 2:02.09. Her twin sister, junior Alyssa Potter, recorded a time of 2:03.53 for a fifth place finish.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Monica Johannessen, Kuzhil, senior Emily Lanteigne, and junior Amanda Maez finished in third place with a time of 3:27.98.

The Kansas swimming and diving team returns to the pool Jan. 28 when the Jayhawks travel to Los Angeles, Calif. to take on UCLA and Fresno State.
