Norman Named Sewanee Assistant Coach

Sewanee, TN , August 30th, 2009           
Kevin Norman has been named Assistant Coach for Sewanee men's and women's swimming for the 2009-2010 season, according to Max Obermiller, head coach for the Tigers. Norman graduated form the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2006 with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Community Health. While at UNCW, Kevin was a swim team captain and a member of four consecutive Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championship teams. Norman earned the Seahawk Award his senior year for his leadership skills. He also spent a year in Wilmington as a Strength and Conditioning intern for UNCW Athletics and was aboard as a student assistant coach when the Seahawks won their fifth consecutive CAA title. Norman is currently ranked on UNCW's All-Time Top Times list in the 500, 1000, and 1650 yard freestyles.

After graduating form UNC Wilmington, Coach Norman earned his M.S. in Exercise Science - Human Performance from Southern Connecticut State University in 2009. While working towards his graduate degree, Norman was an assistant coach for the OMNI Swim Club in New Haven, Connecticut and was a volunteer assistant coach for Yale University during the 2008-2009 season.
