CSCAA Eases Convention Costs For Teams

Chicago, IL , April 8th, 2009
As college athletic budgets tighten across the country, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has moved to ease the burden on member teams. The CSCAA Board has decided to offer a "Buy One, Get One" offer for registrants for the May 21-24 Clinic.

"Understanding that many universities are cutting back on this type of expense right now," explained Pittsburgh's Chuck Knoles, "we made a change to help."

The decision will enable a head coach with a paid registration to bring along an assistant, or additional head coach for free. The only additional cost will be a $25 to cover the cost of their meal at the awards dinner. This year's awards dinner will recognize Auburn Head Coach Richard Quick.

The CSCAA is also encouraging coaches to save on costs by using public transportation to and from the Clinic. For just $2.25, attendees can get to the Doubletree from O'Hare (Blue LIne) or Midway (Orange and Red lines) via the Chicago Transit Authority. Such a move could save participants several hundred dollars in parking and car rentals.
