"We were obviously very excited by what we saw on the women's side," said Tiger head coach Christopher Ip. "Our men were very close and really hung around in their first taste of ACC competition. We were extremely happy to see the support by the fans in our Solid Orange meet."

“This was a great performance tonight against a very strong Clemson team,” said head coach Stu Wilson. “I was proud of the women’s team for hanging in there. Dual meets are an opportunity to work on things and I saw some great individual swims tonight. They showed a lot of mental toughness as we work towards ACC’s. There were some bright spots, but there are still plenty of things we need to work on.”
Senior Noah Copeland and junior Gal Nevo won two events apiece for the Yellow Jackets, while junior Hannah Krimm swept both diving events for the second time in as many weeks. Copeland was victorious in both the 200-free (1:41.61) and 100-free (46.50), while Nevo won the 200-fly (1:53.26) and 200-IM (1:54.77). Krimm scored 268.20 points on the one-meter board and 273.68 points on the three-meter board.
“Getting Gal [Nevo] back was a huge lift on the men’s side,” added Wilson. Gal, Mauricio [Sousa] and Noah [Copeland] led the way tonight as there were a lot of exceptional swims. Watching Noah battle back on that final leg of the 400-free relay was something special. I think there are a lot of positives we can build on from this meet and will continue towards our goals at the ACC Championships.”
Mickey Malul won the 100-breast in a time of 56.37, while Mauricio Sousa placed first in the 50-free with a mark of 21.15. Matthew Vaughan was victorious in the 200-breast with a time of 2:08.38 and rounding out the men’s side winners was Travis Wagner in the 100-fly. He touched the wall in 50.95.
