Terri Lynn Shigle swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team in a non-conference dual meet with Wittenberg Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.
Wittenberg (5-1) edged the Polar Bears (2-5) 135-108.
Shigle won the 1-meter with a score of 220.65 and won the 3-meter with a score of 199.70.
Hannah Bukowy also posted a victory, winning the 100 breast in 1:10.05.
Michelle Eggers posted three second place finishes on the night.
She was second in the 1000 free in 11:08.11 and was second in the 500 free in 5:30.54. She also combined with Sarah Fiffick, Katherine Moore and Alison Garbash to finish second in the 200 free relay in 1:42.86.
Fiffick was also second in the 200 I.M. in 2;21.95 and in the 100 free in :56.32.
Moore finished second in the 100 fly in 1:03.19.
Garbash was second in the 50 free ion :25.66 and Cassandra Fennell was second in te 100 back in 1:04.28.
Fennell, Bukowy, Moore and Kim Randall were second in the 200 medley relay in 1:54.80.
The Polar Bears will return to action Dec. 2-4 at the Wooster Invitational.
George Chesney swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team to a 128-115 victory over Wittenberg Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-2, while the Tigers fall to 5-2.
Chesney bettered the NCAA "B" cut in the 3-meter diving with a score of 287.50. He also won the 1-meter with a score of 248.70.
Anderson Samuelson, Michael Schultz, Jeb Deal and Ryan Bender each won an individual event and combined to win the 200 medley relay in 1:41.69.
Samuelson won the 100 free in :49.02, Schultz won the 1000 free in 10:03.07, Deal won the 100 breast in 1:03.36 and Bender won the 100 back in :55.53.
Brett Kuhn won the 50 free in :21.99 and was second in the 100 free in :49.26.
The Polar Bears will return to action Dec. 2-4 at the Wooster Invitational
