Mount Union College Defeats Ohio Wesleyan
DELAWARE, OH , November 14th, 2008
Mount Union College's women's swimming team got its second dual meet win of the season in a 125-117 victory at Ohio Wesleyan University Friday in Delaware, Ohio. The Purple Raider men were not as fortunate falling 136-87.
The women improve their record to 2-3 overall on the season, while the men stand at 1-4 overall. Both teams compete Saturday at St. Vincent (PA) College in Latrobe, PA.
As for Friday night, freshman Alyson Kolesar (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) had a another strong performance getting wins in the 200 Freestyle (2:03.70), 100 Backstroke (1:03.69) and in the 400 Medley Relay teaming with fellow freshmen Laura Gricol (McCloud, OK/McCloud), Sarah Noble (Copley/Copley) and Julia Kaszycki (Soloman, KS/Salina).
Noble also grabbed a win in the 100 Freestyle (57.61), while Mary Vallinger in the 1m Dive (239.95) and freshman Kerry McCann (Bow, NH/Bow) in the 500 Freestyle (5:46.55) rounded out the event winners for the women.
On the men's side, junior Mike Kuzma (Cocoa Beach, FL/Kellam) won the 1000 Freestyle (10:29.44), sophomore Matt Carlozzi (Canfield/Canfield) won the 500 Freesyle (5:04.07) and the duo got together with juniors Andy Neimes (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and Nickoli Miguel (Seven Hills/Parma Heights Holy Name) to win the 400 Freestyle (3:28.13).
