.: Texas' Brackin Responds to Class Ranking

May 21st, 2008

From Texas women's head coach Kim Brackin:

"It is rewarding to have those girls, and our team, get recognition for their hard work and accomplishments. We ranked very high amongst a great group of programs. I also recruited a lot of those other young women and know how impressive each of them is."

Jim [Henry, assistant coach] and I obviously put a lot of emphasis on recruiting these last two years because, as you mentioned, it is exactly what Texas needed. That being said, I am fully aware of the pressure that comes with a top ranked class. I know we are ready for the challenges that those young women will bring to us as coaches. Although they have decorated resumes, Jim and I need to work hard to help them achieve the goals they shared with us during the recruiting process. Luckily, I have a great team currently in place that will not force those 7 young women to have to lead the team day in and day out; we are ALL very excited for them, and our two divers, to join us in August.
