Saturday Finals
...Dana Kirk...

1650-
Possibly the hardest event in swimming, made even harder by the emotion and atmosphere in the building. I couldn't imagine keeping my cool and following my race plan when the building is cheering so loud you can barely think. Michigan's Emily Brunemann pulled it off taking first with a 15:53.69.  She was followed by UNC's Sprague, while UGA's Ditto swam the third fastest time from a morning heat.

200 Back-
Gemma Spofforth took the event from beginning to end winning with a 1:50.70. Taking second was Zubkova (1:53.17) of Indiana, while Kristen Heiss of A&M took third (1:53.52).

100 Free-
Lacey Nymeyer took the 100 free in a pool record 47.50, followed by Wilkinson (A&M- 47.56), and Magnuson (Tenn- 48.15). The fight for second is the real fight tonight, as Auburn pulls away to 301, A&M- 267, Florida- 252, Cal- 237, and Stanford- 230 are all within 40 points with 3 individuals and a relay to go.

200 Breast
Soni proves that she is the best in the NCAA with a 2:06.32 and a new NCAA meet record. She was out fast in a 1:00.31, and was followed by Elizabeth Smith (Stan- 2:08.73) and A&M's Atkinson (2:09.48).

200 Fly
Saori Haruguchi of Oregon State pulled out an upset by taking the 200 fly in a time of 1:52.39, breaking the NCAA Meet record, previously held by second place Elaine Breeden (Stan- 1:53.27). Auburn's Ava Ohlgren pulled out a third place finish with a 1:54.64.

Stanford dives 2 in finals and had a third diver finish 16th, neither Auburn, CAL nor A&M have any divers in scoring position. A&M goes into the relay placed first, while CAL goes in second, Auburn third and Stanford fourth. Each team must keep in mind that a very dangerous Arizona team lurks in an extremely fast outside lane.
