The UC San Diego women’s swimming team dropped a 131-128 decision to conference rival Loyola Marymount on Saturday afternoon on the LMU campus. Each squad won seven events and the Tritons won both relay events but it was not enough to pull out the team win. Several Tritons had outstanding days, including double winners in Jennifer Sims and Anju Shimura. Sims took top honors in both fly events while Shimura took medalist honors in the back events. The UCSD women’s squad is back in action on January 18 when it takes on the University of San Diego. The first event will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Canyonview Pool.
