The Boston University men’s swimming and diving team posted a convincing 202-98 win over cross-town rival Boston College on Wednesday evening at Competition Pool to improve to 8-2 in dual-meet action. The Terriers won 13-of-16 events, while 10 different swimmers earned first-place victories. Law student Eric Carlson and sophomore Arik Seiler picked up two wins apiece.

BU began the evening with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as sophomore Jeff Wurm swam the lead-off leg and put the team ahead for good. Carlson, freshman Matt Rickett and sophomore Kyle Berg maintained the lead as they finished in one minutes, 35.09 seconds.

Carlson’s first individual win came in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.00), and he was followed by teammate Peter Lo in third place (1:01.61). Carlson capped off his meet by leading a sweep of the 200 breaststroke (2:08.85). Lo (2:17.49) and freshman Nate Everett (2:18.30) placed second and third.

In the diving events, the duo of junior Andre Watson and freshman Tanner Knorr went 1-2 on the one- and three-meter boards. Watson picked up first place on the one-meter with 363 points and Knorr followed with 293.25. On the three-meter, the two switched places as Knorr earned the win with 305.95 points and Watson placed second with a score of 258.00.

Seiler was the Terriers other multi-event winner with wins in the 200 free (1:42.45) and 100 free (47.48).

BU swept the 100 fly, led by Rickett’s 52.10 finish. Freshmen Mark Nakanishi and Bryon Kallert placed second and third in the event with times of 52.92 and 54.30, respectively.

Other first-place finishes came from sophomore Tyson Slesnick (1,000 free, 9:51.55), Wurm (100 back, 53.18), Nakanishi (200 fly, 1:56.43) and freshman Bryon Kallert (200 back, 1:55.30).
