.: Oakland Sweeps Kenyon

Rochester, MI , January 26th, 2008

The Oakland University men's swimming and diving team used four sweeps to defeat Kenyon, 179-101, Saturday afternoon. The Golden Grizzlies finished 1-2-3 in the 100-yard breaststroke, the 100-yard freestyle and the 1 and 3-meter springboard diving events. OU is off until Feb. 21-23 when they host the Summit League Championships.

Oakland had five members win two events in the meet. The victors were sophomore Patrick Downing in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.67) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:54.69), junior Andy Kellogg in the 100 breast (58.29) and the 100-yard freestyle (46.19), senior Ryan Kish in the 1 and 3-meter springboard events, senior Chris Tansel in the 100-yard backstroke (53.28) and the 200-yard breaststroke (50.23) and sophomore Marcin Unold in the 50-yard freestyle (21.07) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:40.06). Junior Steven Catala was also in the winner circle as he took the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.96.)
