.: Oakland Knocks Off Cincinnati

Men
Senior Ryan Kish led the way as Oakland University got back on the winning track with a 172-121 win over Cincinnati last night. Kish set two seasons best as he won the 1 and 3-Meter Diving events (332.48, 340.05, respectively). Both of those scores qualified him for the NCAA Zone C Diving Regionals. The Golden Grizzlies travel to East Lansing, Feb. 25, to take on Michigan State. The meet is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.

Oakland won five events in the pool. Victories came from junior Aaron Holdsworth in the 200-yard butterfly (1:52.55)senior Zoltan Horvath in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events (57.21, 2:04.95, respectively), junior Dawid Tatarczyk in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.06) and senior Chris Tansel in the 100-yard Butterfly (50.26).


Women
Oakland University won ten events to defeat Cincinnati, 172-123 last night. Freshman Chelsea Oates scored 294 points to win the 1-Meter Dive. Her total qualified her for the NCAA Zone C Diving Regionals and missed breaking the school record by three points. She also scored a season best of 263.55 points to win the 3-Meter Dive. The Golden Grizzlies travel to East Lansing, Feb. 25, to take on Michigan State. The meet is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.

Oakland had two swimmers who joined Oates as double-victors. Sophomore Sarah Ludema won the 50-yard freestyle (24.31) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.23) while freshman Emily Wike won the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events (1:07.35,2:26.99, respectively).

The Golden Grizzlies recieved additional first place finishes from junior Sophia Gustafsson in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.17), senior Carolyn Routh in the 1000-yard freestlye (10:37.76), sophomore Agnes Solan in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.41) and senior Katie Wilke in the 500-yard freestyle.
