Limestone College Director of Athletics Mike Cerino has announced that Ryan Mallam will be the new head coach for the Saints’ men’s and women’s swimming programs. Mallam comes to Limestone from the Southern Crescent Aquatic Team in Peachtree City, Ga.
“We are excited about the opportunity to have a swim coach with Ryan’s background,” Cerino pointed out. “We had a quality group of candidates, but at the end of the day Ryan emerged as the one to lead our program.”
Mallam has coached at Southern Crescent since 2002. He has coached multiple Olympic trial qualifiers, senior and junior national qualifiers, and state champions.
Mallam was selected as an assistant coach for the Georgia Zone Team in 2008 and was inducted into the Fayette County Swimming Hall of Fame in 2005. He was a Masters Top Five National Qualifier in 2005 and 2008.
He was a four-year varsity letterman for the University of South Carolina’s swim program. Mallam was a junior national, individual state, and senior regional champion during his prep career. He also qualified for the US Open.
Mallam graduated from USC with a degree in business administration in 2000.
