Freshman Brooke Golden (New Windsor, Md.) of the Towson University women’s swimming and diving team has been honored as the Colonial Athletic Association Swimmer of the Week for the week ending October 14, it has been announced by CAA officials.

Golden led the Tigers to a 178-120 CAA victory over defending conference champion William & Mary by winning two events while setting five individual records. She won the 1000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle events, marking the first victories of her college career.

By winning the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:07.77, she set the William & Mary pool record in addition to the Towson overall and freshman records. Meanwhile, she set another pool record with her time of 4:57.89 in the 500-yard freestyle, which set a Towson freshman record.

Golden completed the meet by finishing second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.39.

The Tigers, who have won seven consecutive dual meets, will host Old Dominion University in a CAA dual meet on Saturday afternoon at Burdick Pool at 1:00 p.m.
