Senior Leah Woodard sets a new school record and NCAA ‘B’ standard record in 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.96. The Rockets came away with a big win over Miami, 170-130, to move their record to 6-1.

“This was a great win for the program,” Head Coach Lars Jorgensen said. “I give credit to the entire team for this win. We have worked hard for a couple years now for this.”

The Toledo team of sophomore Megan Reissig, juniors Kylie Gamelier and Shannon Hazelton and Woodard started the meet off with a new pool record in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.27. Following this was Catlin Cormack winning the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:18.50, her best time so far this year.  In the fourth event of the night, Reissig came in with a time of 57.12 in the 100-yard backstroke, also her best time this year.

Setting her second record tonight Woodard came in with a time of 50.73 in the 100-yard freestyle. Following this great performance was Reissig, who came in with a time of 2:03.64 in the 200-yard backstroke, which also breaks a pool record. In the twelfth event, the 500-yard freestyle, freshman Jacy Dyer came in first with a time of 5:02.77.  In the 200-yard IM, Reissig broke a school record with a time of 2:04.27, followed by the team of senior Liz Hinkleman, sophomore Ashley Cusack, Dyer, and Woodard, who also broke a pool record in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:29.32.

In the diving events, senior Jill Reighard had a point total of 270.25, putting her in first place in the one-meter board. In the three-meter board, senior Megan McKinley came away with a win and 290.10 points.

“We have a tough meet tomorrow against Ohio, where our swimming will have to be better than they were tonight,” Jorgensen said.

The Rockets will host Ohio University on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Student Recreation Center starting at 1:00 p.m.
