Meet Results

The William Smith College swimming and diving team won its season-opening meet 132-76 over Buffalo State on Saturday. The Herons won eight of the day's 13 events.
 
Junior Lynn Cutter (St. Gertrude/Richmond, Va.) was a triple winner for William Smith, capturing the 50-yard freestyle in 26.21 seconds and the 500 free in 5:37.45 and swimming a leg on the 200 medley relay. Senior Megan Mosher (Livonia/Livonia, N.Y.) was a double winner, capturing the 100 free in 58.27 and swimming a leg on the 200 medley relay.
 
First-year Erin Houck (State College/Pa. Furnace, Pa.) and sophomore Lauren Patterson (Annapolis/Annapolis, Md.) completed the winning 200 medley relay team.
 
The Herons got addition individual wins from junior Allie Donovan (Catherine McAuley/Portland, Maine) in the 1000 free, sophomore Carly Allison Sperling (OFA/Ogdensburg, N.Y.) on the 1-meter diving board, sophomore Amanda Daley (Cohasset/Cohasset, Mass.) in the 200 butterfly, and sophomore Jessica Cook (New Paltz/New Paltz, N.Y.) in the 200 backstroke.
 
William Smith is back in the water on Nov. 6, when the Herons host Wells at 7 p.m. in Bristol Pool.
