The UC Irvine/Nike Cup has concluded day two at Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach .
The Stanford men and the UCLA women continue to lead the meet following the second day of the meet. The Bruin women have 1025.5 points to lead second place Brigham Young with 577.5 points. The Cardinal men have 1372 points to lead second place BYU with 637 points.
The Stanford men's team broke the meet record in the 200 medley relay to start the night with a NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:28.34 . Kryzystof Zoldak of Pacific won the 400 IM with a 'B' cut time of 3:51.32. Jason Dunford of Stanford won the 100 fly with an 'A' cut of 46.90 setting a new meet record in the process. Austin Staab of Stanford had a 'B' cut time of 46.90. UCI redshirt senior Randall Tom took third while swimming unattached with a time of 47.61. Eugene Godsoe of Stanford was fourth with a 'B' time of 48.05. Danny Beal of Stanford won the 200 free with a 'B' time of 1: 36.51. Paul Kornfield of Stanford won the 100 breast with a 'B' cut time of 54.38. Nick Cass (54.45) and Paul Zaich (55.16) both of Stanford swam 'B' cut times in the 100 breast. Eugene Godsoe of Stanford won the 100 back with a 'B' time of 47.55. Stanford won the 800 free relay with a time of 6:37.76.
On the women's side, UCLA started the night off with a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.87. UC Irvine sophomore Lyndsay DePaul won the 400 IM with a 'B' cut time of 4: 16.50. Ja-Neil Bragg of Pacific had the top-time of the day in the event as she swam an 'A' cut time of 4:14.81 in prelims. UCI senior All-American Chelsea Nagata won the 100 fly with a 'B' cut time of 54.29. Ja-Neil Bragg won the 200 free with a 'B' cut time of 1: 49.14. Emilly Bibb of UCLA (1:49.44) and Anna Poteete (1:49.46) each swam 'B' cut times in the 200 free. Nicolette Teo of UCLA won the 100 breast with a time of 1:02.06, but had an even faster time in prelims as she had an 'A' cut time of 1: 01.57. Chelsea Nagata won her second event of the night and third of the meet as she swam a 'B' cut time of 55.72 in the 100 back. Isabell Fischer of UCLA took second with a 'B' time of 55.97. UCLA won the 800 free relay with a time of 7: 25.99.
The UC Irvine/Nike Cup will conclude Saturday with prelims at 9:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m. at Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach.
