.: Ranking the Classes: #9 - Florida

May 14th, 2007

Florida - On the surface of it, Florida's class doesn't come out looking like a band of giant-killers.  Logan Storie (Corvallis, OR) is good, really, good, but he ranks 22nd on our list of high school seniors.   Then again, Florida classes rarely do.  Aside from a kid named Lochte, Gregg Troy has not recuited the biggest and brightest names in the country, but he's largely found kids that can come in and develop under their system.  Add in a sprinkling of overseas imports and you've got a team that exceeded expectations and walked home with a trophy last year.  Storie is a lot like Lochte in that he can cover any distance from the 50 to the 1650 as a scorer.  Joey Pedrazza (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) is the #4 500 freestyler in the country, IMer Mathew Norton (Port Orange, FL) from Lochte's home club and Rutgers transfer Scott Thompson will all  continue the Gators history of mid-distance success.
