.: Ranking the Classes: #8 - Tennessee

May 14th, 2007

Tennessee – Stephanie Carr isn’t the only high-profile recruit to make an appearance in 2007-08. Brooke Boncher traveled with Lady Vol head coach Matt Kredich from Richmond. As a Spider Boncher was an All-American flyer and sprint freestyler and as she goes so too does the Volunteer class. Tennessee picked up a trio of backstrokers in Tricia Weaner (Gettysburg, PA), Sarah Sargent (Nashville, TN) and Morgan Farrell (Pensacola, FL). Like Boncher Sargent will be able to help out the Volunteer sprint relays right away. Aleksa Akerfelds (Bronxville, NY) is also capable of making an impact at the SEC championships and not far off of being an NCAA competitor. UT missed out on Chelsea Nauta (whose sister Brittany swims for the Lady Vols) but if Boncher returns to the form that carried her in 2005, Tennessee will better its NCAA and SEC finishes for the third straight year.
