.: Ranking the Classes: #5 - Arkansas

May 14th, 2007

Arkansas – Speaking of teams that have been mining Bolles recruits, Arkansas jumped onto the recruiting map when Bolles’ coaches Jeff Poppell and Todd Mann were brought on board last year. This fall the Razorbacks will welcome two Bolles freshman along with Georgia transfer and Bolles product Stephanie Carr. After sitting out a year Carr will lead a trio of sub 16:30 milers that includes Jamie Marks (Jacksonville, FL) and Ashley Largo (Sarasota, FL). Flyer Katie Kastes (Clearwater, FL) comes in with times just off the school records and will find her way onto every free relay Arkansas offers. With the exception of Erica Totten who represented the Philippines at the Asian games, Arkansas’ recruiting remained a largely domestic affair. In addition to securing talent at the top end, Poppell and crew secured a class that will, with the likes of Missouri breaststrokers Erin Neumann (Chesterfield) and Jessie Clark (St. Louis) and Shara Sutphen (St. Louis) and sprinter Megan Haskins (Orlando, FL) be competitive at the SEC level.
