.: Swimming World Hands Out Media Guide Awards
Phoenix, AZ , May 1st, 2007
The 2006-07 Auburn Swimming and Diving media guide was a publication of the Auburn Athletic Media Relations Office. Writing, editing, layout and design were completed by Associate Director of Media Relations Carol White. Meanwhile, page top/bottom design elements were created by former swimmer Doug Van Wie.
The Texas A&M women's swimming & diving guide was written, compiled, designed, and edited by Chris Harrell and publications specialist Cyndi Mousner. Photography was courtesy of Glen Johnson of Johnson Photography and Michael Zwierzykowski. Additional assistance was provided by Katie Harrell and Jenna Wheeler. The guide was printed by The Insite Group in Bryan, Texas.
Each submitted guide was judged on a 100-point scale derived from the following percentages: 30 points for record section, 30 points for history section, 15 points for athlete bios, 15 points for coach bios and 10 points for the overall look and design of the publication. Auburn University, home of the reigning men's and women¹s NCAA championship teams, earned the other Superior rating. The Tigers¹ combined men's and women¹s book was also named Media Guide of the Year.
Of Swimming World Magazine's three inaugural awards handed out this year, Texas A&M was the only school to appear in each of the three categories. The cover of the women's swimming and diving guide was named the best in the nation on April 5 while women's swimming and diving media relations contact Chris Harrell was named honorable mention swimming SID of the year on April 4.
Notre Dame earned both "Outstanding" ratings with a pair of impressive guides for both men's and women's swimming while Wisconsin and Navy's guides were judged as "Excellent."
