.: New Mexico State Tabs Yale Assistant
Las Cruces, NM , June 20th, 2007
Last season, Wyrick was an assistant coach at Yale working with both the mens and womens programs for coach Frank Keefe. The womens squad broke 12 school records while the mens team shattered nine recorded en route to a third-place finish at the Ivy League Championships.
Jillian brings great experience and a tremendous amount of energy to the pool deck, Pratt said. She is a perfect fit for our staff and has the tools to be a great mentor to our swimmers and an amazing recruiter.
Wyrick coached sophomore Alex Righi to three top 16 finishes at the 2007 NCAA Championships where Yale had a 30th-place showing.
Her passion for swimming is tremendous and we are lucky to have her as a part of the Aggie Family, he said. Finding a replacement for this full time position was a great experience for us and we had many excellent candidates.
An Avon, Conn., native Wyrick was an 11-time all-American and set three school records in the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke at Amherst College. She began her coaching career as an assistant at Hamilton College, where she was responsible for all aspects of the highly competitive Division III program.
