“Kate hit a home run on the interview with the coaching staff, the administration, and especially the swimmers that she met,” Jungbluth said. “She will do a great job working with the student-athletes. As a former student-athlete at Tufts University, she understands the balance that must be maintained to achieve excellence in the classroom and in the athletic arena. I am very excited to have her on board with our program at Colgate.”
A native of Duxbury, Mass., Sweeney graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Tufts University. She was a four year letterwinner on the Jumbo swim team and served as a captain in the 2004-05 season.
