.: Polar Bear Turned Penguin, Ewald Hired at Youngstown

Youngstown, OH , July 22nd, 2007

Youngstown State University has named Jessica Ewald as the newest member of its women's swimming staff. Ewald, who previously coached at the Total Performance Swim Camp joins the Penguins as an assistant swimming coach.

Ewald is a graduate of Ohio Northern University. There she was a twelve-time Ohio Athletic Conference Champion and won the 100 and 200 breaststroke for three straight years. Coached by her mother Peggy Ewald, the breaststroker led the Polar Bears to the University's first-ever Ohio Athletic Conference title.

Ewald joins Youngstown State that is on the rise. The Penguins enjoyed their highest-ever conference finish this past season. Matt Anderson's squad finished fifth in the Horizon League with five new school records.
