After an excruciatingly long wait, the NCAA Championships Committee finally received and a recommendation for the the 2008 Division III Championships. The Committee recommended that the College of Wooster host the championships at Miami University's Nixon Aquatic Center in Oxford, Ohio. The recommendation now goes onto the the NCAA Management Council.
If approved as expected, it will be the seventh and eight championships held at Miami University. The meet last visited the Ohio campus in 2002. That year Peter Casares led the Kenyon Lords and Ladies to team titles. The men's meet was held there in 1997 and 1999 while the women's meet visited in 1995 and 1997.
The women's championship will take place March 13-15 while the men's meet will follow a week later - on Easter weekend - March 20-22. Division I will host their women's championships March 20-22 just up the road at Ohio State while the men's meet (March 27-29) will take place at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington. The Division II meet will take place March 12-15 at a yet-to-be-determined site.
