Washington College defeated Ursinus Saturday. For the women, junior Megan Morse and freshman Kathy Gerhart won a pair of individual events as host Washington College topped visiting Ursinus College, 128-72, in a Centennial Conference women's swim meet this afternoon at the Casey Swim Center. The Shorewomen are now 8-3 overall and 2-3 in the Centennial with the win. The Bears fall to 4-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

Gerhart set a career-best mark in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.72 and a WC season-best mark for the squad. She also captured the 50 freestyle in 25.97 seconds. Morse won the 200 freestyle in 2:02.72 and the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.35 seconds. Seniors Ally Simons and Liz Shoemaker, and sophomore Anna Green each won an event. Simons won the 400 individual medley (5:01.13), Shoemaker grabbed the 100 backstroke (1:02.53), while Green took home the 500 freestyle (5:40.95). The win for Green was her first ever first place finish in a collegiate event. Sophomore Andrea Cole had the fastest
time in the 100 breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:14.83. The relay team of Shoemaker, freshman Liz Thomas, Gerhart and Simons captured victory in the 200 medley relay (1:56.45), while the 800 freestyle squad of Shoemaker, senior Caitlin Auger, Simons and Morse established a season-best time in the event with a time of 8:22.58.

Auger and Thomas finished second in two events. Auger in the 200 freestyle (2:05.33) and the 100 backstroke (1:06.59), and Thomas in the 50 freestyle (26.53) and the 100 freestyle (58.30). Senior Erin Jones was second in the 1000 freestyle (11:39.28), sophomore Brittany Siburt grabbed second in the 400
individual medley (5:11.65), freshman Cailin Eisele garnered second in the 100 butterly (1:04.21) and
junior Nicole Ludwig was the second fastest swimmer in the 100 breastroke (1:15.98). The team of freshman Amy Smith, Cole, sophomore Rebecca Lee and senior Kimmy Kraeer placed second in the 200 medley relay (2:02.13).

For the men, the 200 yard medley relay team of junior Brandon Becker, junior Alex Thomas, freshman Dylan Pollock and senior Colin Soper set a pool record with a time of 1:40.97 as host Washington College defeated visiting Ursinus College, 100-61, in a Centennial Conference men's swim meet this afternoon
at the Casey Swim Center. The Shoremen improved to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference with the win. Ursinus drops to 2-9 overall and 0-7 in the conference.

Thomas was also the top performer in two individual events. He won the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.46 seconds and swam the fastest in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.60. Colin Soper set a season-best mark in the 100 backstroke witha mark of 57.25, winning by .12 of a second. Other winners were Becker in the 400 individual medley (4:44.60), Pollock in the 100 butterfly (54.31), sophomore Dan Wentzel in the 100 freestyle (51.86) and freshman Chris Soper in the 500 freestyle (5:13.81). The 800 freestyle relay team of Chris Soper, Wentzel, Pollock and Colin Soper were the fastest team in the event with a mark of 7:40.44, setting a season-best time. Wentzel was also second in the 200 freestyle (1:53.68). Other second place finishers were sophomore Phil Munger in the 400 IM (4:46.35), freshman Justin Morgan in the 100 butterfly (57.23) and junior Eddie Raleigh in the 500 freestyle (5:20.55).

The 800 freestyle relay team of Morgan, sophomore Kevin Lonergan, Raleigh and freshman Dan Beadell swam the second fastest team in the event (8:10.33).
