.: San Diego, North Dakota Remain Atop Division II Rankings

Somers, WI , February 12th, 2007

Heading into the Conference Championship season, there was little change at the top of the CollegeSwimming.com Division II Dual Meet Rankings.  The University of California-San Diego women and University of North Dakota men remain in the top spots.  For UCSD, it is a familiar spot.  The Triton’s men’s and women’s teams were the Division II Dual-Meet National Champions.  The Fighting Sioux men finished second The CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Rankings uses and objective scoring system to measure a team’s dual-meet strength.

In the women's rankings, the top three remained the same with North Dakota a point behind San Diego and Wayne State sitting third.  North Central Conference rivals Saint Cloud (4th) and South Dakota (5th) swapped spots.   Delta State and Grand Valley are tied for 6th while West Chester and Truman occupy the 8th and 9th place spots before three teams - Ashland, Minnesota State, and Minnesota State-Mankato were in a tie for tenth.

On the men's side, the top five were unchanged though St. Cloud moved into a tie for 5th with Grand Valley State.  Ouachita Baptist, Henderson State, Delta State and Ashland rounded out the top ten.

The CollegeSwimming.com rankings are based on each team's best dual meet lineup as judged and submitted by participating teams. Rankings are announced four times throughout the season and entries are due on November 14 (Pre-Invite), December 20 (Post-Invite), February 6 (Pre-Conference) , and March 6 (post-conference).
