The Pacific women's swimming squad suffered a 131-130 loss to San Jose State on Saturday, Dec. 8.
The loss dropped Pacific to 1-2 in dual meets this season, while San Jose State moved to 5-4.
The Tigers earned victories in eight of the 14 events on Saturday, but were unable to overcome the depth presented by the Spartans.
Despite the loss for the team, several individual highlights came on Saturday. Sophomores Brooke Cashion (Irvine, Calif.) and KC Albiston (Salt Lake City, Utah) finished first and second in the 200 Free. Cashion won the event with a time of 1:57.17, while Albiston finished second in 1:58.38.
Later Albiston, Cashion and senior Sarah Gutierrez (San Jose, Calif.) finished one, two, three in the 500 Free. Albiston nabbed the event victory in 5:08.90. Cashion was just a split second behind at 5:08.98, while Gutierrez finished third in 5:10.49.
Leading 124-118 entering the final event, San Jose State surged past Pacific in the 200 Free Relay as the Spartans claimed first and third place to earn the dual meet victory.
Pacific will be back in action during the winter holiday as the Tigers compete during their Hawaii Training Trip.
