.: NYU Women, TCNJ Men Capture ECAC Titles

New York University slowly separated itself from the field to win the 2007 ECAC Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Championship with a score of 641.5. On the men's side it was The College of New Jersey edging NYU at the meet was held at the Nassau County Aquatics Center, November 30 through December 2.
NYU bested second place finisher SUNY Geneseo by just over 100 points. Gettysburg College took home third place with a score of 491.5, while Springfield College was fourth (426.5) and SUNY New Paltz finished fifth (395.5).
The 'Swimmer of the Meet' award went to Kiera Heath of Gettysburg, who earned a meet-high 80 points for her team. Heath won all four individual races in which she competed (1650 free, 200 fly, 500 free, and 400 IM), and helped a pair of Gettysburg relay teams to top three finishes in the 800 free and 200 free.
Erin White of Springfield received the 'Diver of the Meet' award, after winning the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. NYU head coach Lauren Beam picked up the final major award of the meet, as she was named 'Coach of the Meet'.
TCNJ and NYU battled back and forth over the three-day meet, before TCNJ knocked off the defending champions. NYU finished with a score of 721.5, and Springfield College finished a distant third at 342.5.
Three major awards were handed out on the men's side at the completion of the meet. Pavel Buyanov of the College of Staten Island was honored as the 'Swimmer of the Meet'. He earned 45 points for CSI behind wins in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, and helped the relay team to a third place finish in the 400 medley relay.
Nick Halbach of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy received the 'Diver of the Meet' recognition. Halbach won the 3 meter diving event by enough of a margin to overcome his second place finish in the 1 meter event.
