.: Ouachita Wins Henderson State Invite

 The Ouachita swimming and diving team won the Henderson State Invitational this weekend by closing out the combined meet with a strong final day. The Lady TigerSharks won the women’s meet behind another strong performance by the Watson sisters. Sarah Watson earned her third NCAA ‘A’ qualifying time of the season, this time in the 200 backstroke (2:05.77). Rachel Watson broke the school record with an NCAA ‘B’ cut in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.19). The Lady TigerSharks cruised to the victory with 400 points, defeating Henderson State (321), Texas-Permian Basin (286), Hendrix College (239), and John Brown (227). The Ouachita men didn’t win their meet, but the TigerSharks finished second to host Henderson State by only 10 points. Ouachita’s Radu Badalac posted his first NCAA ‘A’ cut in winning the 200 backstroke (1:50.60). Ouachita hosts Delta State at Waggoner Pool next Saturday in a meet between two of the top teams in Division II.
