.: Mid-Major All-American Team Named

CollegeSwimming.com announced today the 2006 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Mid-Major All-American Team.  This year’s team marks the second year of the program and continues CollegeSwimming.com’s support of non-Bowl Championship Series (BCS) conferences.  The student-athletes were selected on the basis of their qualifying for the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.  Members of the 2006 team are:

Top Team: Princeton, with two men and two women selected, had the most student-athletes named to the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major All-American Team.  UC-Santa Barbara and the University of the Pacific each had three athletes selected.

Top Conference: The Ivy League / EISL had the most selections with eleven. 

Mid-Major institutions are designated as colleges or universities that are not affiliated with a Bowl Championship Series (BCS) conference as well as those institutions awarding less than half of the maximum-allowable scholarships (seven for women, five for men).
