Pomona-Pitzer Athletics announces the hiring of Joshua White as the new Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach. Coach White has recently completed his Ph.D. in Human Performance studying in the Counsilman Center for the Science of Swimming at Indiana University. His graduate research focused on the power generated during swimming and swimming power training.

During his graduate schooling, Dr. White served for three years as the volunteer assistant coach for the IU Men’s Team. Additionally, White has spent time coaching with Bloomington South High School and has coached club with The Indiana Swim Team and Bloomington Swim Club.

Familiar to the DIII scene, Dr. White is a summa cum laude graduate of Kenyon College where he was a three time All-American and two time NCAA DIII national champion in the 800 Free Relay.

"I am excited to join the Pomona-Pitzer staff and look forward to being a Sagehen,” said White. “I was impressed by the intelligence and maturity of the team. Every student-athlete that I have spoken with mentions the team atmosphere as a huge factor in their choice to attend Pomona and Pitzer Colleges. The amazing facilities combined with the great weather make this a spectacular place to be a coach."

Pomona-Pitzer Athletics is the combined athletic department for Pomona College and Pitzer College both located in Claremont California. Pomona-Pitzer is a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and the NCAA DIII.
