Siloam Springs, AR , July 23rd, 2006

By Simeon Hinsey
John Brown University, of Northwest Arkansas, has announced the hiring of former JBU student-athlete Anna Olander as the new swimming coach for the upcoming 2006-2007 season at John Brown University (Ark.).

Olander graduated from JBU in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and has spent the past two years working as the Student Employment Coordinator at John Brown.

"We are always excited when a former athlete joins our athletic staff," noted Gordon. "Anna brings experience as a swimmer herself, and I believe the swimmers will appreciate Anna's leadership and her heart for JBU students."

"The team is comprised of a great group of girls, and I am looking forward to working with them," said Olander. "I am ready for a new challenge and am eager to get started."

As an athlete, Olander swam throughout the 2000-2002 seasons, and garnered several accomplishments including NAIA Honorable Mention for the 2001-2002 season. She and her husband Jared, also a JBU graduate, reside in Siloam Springs.
