A whopping 416 programs, representing 252 institutions earned Academic All-American honors from the Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The numbers represented a tremendous jump over last year when just over 270 programs were honored. Leading the way were the women of Sweet Briar College, coached by Jason Gallagher. The Division III program posted a 3.76 GPA to lead all schools. Not far behind, Jeff Stewart's Wheeling Jesuit women posted a 3.71 to lead all of Division II. To cap an already magical season, the Washington University (MO) men led Division III and all men's programs with a 3.64 grade point. Cross-state rivals Missouri-Rolla earned a 3.38 to lead Division II men while Georgetown's women (3.61) and American University's men (3.48) rounded out the NCAA leaders. Lincoln College swept the Junior College honors while the Mills College women and Cumberland men led the way for the NAIA.
