The UC San Diego women's swimming and diving team looked strong in defeating Division I University of San Diego 170-120 on Saturday afternoon in Canyonview Pool. The Tritons cruised to victory by winning 10-of-16 events, including eight of the first ten. Jennie Margrave won the one-meter and three-meter diving events while Jennifer Sims won the 200 fly and 100 fly races. The UCSD 200 medley relay team of Aubrey Panis, Louisa Salisbury, Sims and Emily Harlan began the meet with a first-place finish. Sophie Levy, fresh off her National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week honor, won the 1650 free with a time of 17:19.38.

Last week, Levy won the 500 and 1000 free events against Division I opponent UC Davis. This week Levy cruised to the win in the 1650, beating teammate Andrea Lippin. Levy was edged in the 500 free against the Toreros by just two-tenths of a second.

In addition to Margrave and Sims first-place finishes, Susan Bell won the 100 back with a time of 58.90. Emily Harlan won the 50 free at 24.44. Shannon Simonds beat her Triton teammate Harlan to capture the 100 free with a time of 54.59. Panis won the 200 back at 2:11.53.
