.: Mancuso, Orstein Claim PAC Weekly Awards

Mancuso also won the award last week, while Orstein was honored for the third time this season. In her first two collegiate seasons, Orstein has garnered six PAC weekly awards.
Mancuso posted five individual victories and one relay first-place showing during a 1-1 week for the Presidents. On Saturday, Mancuso shined in W&J’s 126-101 loss at Grove City after winning the 200 IM (2:02.53), 200 butterfly (2:02.61) and 500 freestyle (4:51.13).
On Wednesday, Mancuso led a 112-73 victory over Bethany by claiming the 200 (1:49.02) and 500 (4:59.53) freestyle events. Mancuso also swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:45.53).
Orstein has helped Washington & Jefferson rank as the No. 20 team in the latest Collegeswimming.com Division III Top 25 poll. During the week, Orstein qualified for the NCAA “B” Cut in the 50 freestyle (24.22), shattered a new school record in the 1000 freestyle (10:33.00) and set two new pool records.
Her time in the 1000 freestyle on Saturday broke the Grove City College pool record by eight seconds and Orstein followed that up with a win in the 200 butterfly (2:12.05). She then helped the 400 freestyle relay (3:47.02) touch first in the final event.
The 2004-2005 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year led the women’s 99-79 Wednesday triumph versus Bethany with a pair of individual victories and a new pool record in the 200 freestyle relay (1:42.41). After claiming the 50 freestyle, she teamed with three other Presidents to claim the 200 medley relay (1:54.25).
Orstein claimed two national championships (200 and 400 IM) last season and finished her rookie season as a five-time All-American. In her first two seasons, Orstein has placed first in every dual-meet event (individual or relay) in which she has competed in.
