Meanwhile, junior Ryan Reeser helped the Greyhound men's team celebrate Senior Day with a victory by breaking the school record in the 1000 free as Loyola (8-7, 3-2) handed the Gaels a 115-87 loss in the regular season finale for the Greyhounds.
Sterback, who broke the three-meter diving record earlier this season, took first place in the one-meter event with a score of 255.23 points, breaking the previous record held by Lisa Lenhoff in 1985. She also earned a victory in the three-meter event by scoring 249.00 points.
Freshman Victoria Kamauff also earned two victories for the Greyhounds by winning the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:14.76 before taking first place in the 200 back with a mark of 2:11.95.
Competing in their final home regular season meets, senior Jayme Adams and Chelsea Brace also earned victories for the Greyhounds in the win over Iona. Adams took first in the 200 free (1:59.14) while Brace led a Loyola sweep in the 200 fly, touching the wall in 2:13.58. Brace also helped the Greyhounds earn a victory in the 400 medley relay by swimming the first leg.
Freshman Amanda Cody led Iona in a losing effort by earning a pair of individual victories. She earned a first place finish in the 50 free with a time of :25.29 before taking the 100 free with a mark of :54.44. Senior Melanie Andorfer also earn two wins for the Gaels by winning the 1000 free and the 500 free.
Reeser broke the school record in the 1000 free by recording a time of 9:47.72, which eclipsed the previous mark held by Chris Berger. Berger set his mark in 2003 with a time of 9:49.98. Reeser also won the 200 back event with a time of 1:58.83. He also swam in the Greyhounds' victorious 400 medley relay team, which finished with a time of 3:39.82.
Sophomore Ian Perazzelli also won a pair of events for the Greyhounds, taking first place in the 200 free (1:48.66) and the 100 free (:49.84). Sophomore Patrick Hicks also earned a victory in the 500 free by finishing with a time of 5:03.17.
Sophomore Jason Felix led the Gaels in the loss by finishing first in the 50 free (:22.48) while taking second place in the 100 free.
The wins allowed Loyola to celebrate Senior Day as the Greyhounds
honored their nine seniors during the meet's first intermission.
