Meet Results

The New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference put a wrap on the 2006 championships with a tremendous third day of competition at the Delta State University Aquatics Center on Saturday, Feb. 18. The NSISC Championships featured the top collegiate swimming and diving in NCAA Division II.

Truman State University claimed the women’s team title with 1870 points. TSU delivered a solid Saturday performance to guarantee their second–straight NSISC team title. Drury University finished second with 1438 points, while Delta State University was third with 1220 points.

Drury University held off a furious charge by host Delta State University to claim the men’s team title 1567 points to 1399 points. The Statesmen claimed a number of late events, but the Panthers proved to be too much in the end. The University of Missouri-Rolla placed third with 1306 points.

Delta State University will return to action next Saturday, Feb. 25 as the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen host an NCAA “Last Chance” Meet. Teams from across the country will come to Cleveland to compete for NCAA qualifying times at the “last meet” of the year.
