Puget Sound Women, Whitworth Men Claim NWC Titles

Federal Way, WA , February 13th, 2006           
The Unviersity of Puget Sound women's swimming team made it a decade of dominance on Sunday evening at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center, winning their tenth consecutive Northwest Conference title. Not to be overshadowed, the Whitworth men's swimming team made it for straight NWC titles for the Pirates from Spokane.

Whitworth's men claimed their fourth consecutive Northwest Conference swimming title on Sunday night at the King County Aquatic Center, Steve Schadt was named NWC Coach of the Year and three Pirate swimmers shared NWC Outstanding swimmer honors in 2006.

Final Team Scores:
Men - Whitworth 722, Puget Sound 612.5, Linfield 414.5, Pacific Lutheran 334, Whitman 322, Lewis & Clark 295, Willamette 263, Pacific 68.

Women - Puget Sound 719, Lewis & Clark 528, Whitworth 501, Whitman 470, Linfield 381, Pacific Lutheran 254, Willamette 201, Pacific 140.
