Penn placed first in eight of the meet's first nine events to defeat Columbia, 187.5-112.5. For the Lions, it was the first of two meets within 16 hours of each other, as Columbia hosts Wagner on Saturday, December 9 at noon.
Junior Amy Krakauer was a double-winner for the Lions. She placed first in both the 100 (1:06.74) and 200 breaststroke (2:24.65) events.
Senior co-captain Lauren Morford swam a season-best time of 5:06.76 to win the 500 free. Columbia's other event-winner was Juliet DeFrancisco in the three-meter diving with a score of 261.08. The junior diver was second on the 1m board.
Sophomore Hannah Galey was second in both the 100 and 200 freestyle events.
