.: Harvard Assistant Peluse to Step Down

Cambridge, MA , April 10th, 2006

After three years with the Harvard Crimson, Women's Assistant Coach Angie Peluse will step down at the conclusion of the academic year.

Said Peluse, "I have come to this decision for many reasons, all of them personal. As much as I have loved my time with HWSD, it is time for me to pursue a new path. Although I am not convinced that I will be out of coaching forever, I know that it is in my best interest to leave it for now. I will be staying in Boston and am currently looking at positions at Educational and Healthcare Consulting Firms, as well as investigating some options at the Board of Public Health."

Her comments echoed what many a coach feels, "Swimming is not just a sport, and this job is not just a job....There are days that you don't miss it at all, and then there are days where waxing nostalgia about times in the pool can bring a smile to your face. As Corie Calfee (Class of 2000) and I discuss with fond memories, there is nothing like a good Saturday morning workout; this is true from the coaching perspective as well."

Peluse will assist with the search for a replacement and remain involved in the transition
