Brian Lawler broke a pair of school records in the one and three-meter diving events to lead the Terrier men’s swimming team to a 149-69 victory over the University of New Hampshire Saturday afternoon at BU’s Fitness and Recreation Center. The Terrier women suffered a 142.5-98.5 setback to the Wildcats. The BU men improved to 1-1 in dual meets this season, while the Terrier women fell to 1-2.

Lawler set the pace with a combined score of 337.80 in the one-meter diving event. Teammate Alex Caesar finished second. UNH did not have any men’s diving entrants. He beat teammate Matt Watkins by less than one second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:08.16), then captured the 500-yard freestyle in 4:56.87, nearly 20 seconds better than UNH’s Ian Ellis. The Terrier women were led by Christina Ruggiero, who finished second in both the 1000-yard free (10:34.30) and the 200-yard free (1:57.03) and Lidija Breznikar, who won the 200 IM (2:09.43) and the 200 fly (2:08.98).
