.: Northwestern Defeats Michigan State, Falls to Purdue

The Wildcats overall record now stands at 2-1 on the year, 1-1 in the conference.
Freshman diver Chelsea Davis (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) won the 3-meter board for Northwestern after finishing second in the 1-meter to Amanda Miller, who broke the Purdue school record in the event.
Sophomore Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) won the 100 free with a time of 51.12 for NU, while senior Katie Paglini (Chicago, Ill./Latin School) swam a 2:02.41 to win the 200 back.
The time bested Paglini's 2:03.64 in the event against UW-Milwaukee, which ranked her in the season's first edition of the Taper & Shave Quick 50.
The Wildcats' 400 medley and 400 free relay teams both finished in second place at the meet.
Individually, Katie Braun (Edina, Minn./Edina) finished second in the 100 fly, 200 fly and the 200 IM. Hupman (200 free) and Paglini (100 back) also recorded second place showings for Northwestern. The Wildcats return to action at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in a dual meet at No. 11 Wisconsin.
