Meet Results

Winning eight of 10 events, the Lock Haven University women's swim team (1-1, 1-1 PSAC) picked up their first victory in their first home dual meet of the season, dropping Mansfield University 119-82 today (Nov. 5) at the Zimmerli Pool.

Junior Katie Greiniesen (Pittsburgh/Plum) grabbed a pair of those victories, finishing first in the 1650 freestyle with a pool-record 19:34.24, and 500 freestyle (5:46.36).

Both Diane Sujansky (Plum, Pa./Plum) and Isabel Carneiro (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Centro Educacional de Lagoa) won three times, twice on the relay squads, including a pool record 4:15.67 in the 400 medley relay. Sujansky also topped her Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Qualifying time in the 50 freestyle, while Carneiro added a 2:01.66 in the 200 freestyle, good for her third PSAC mark.

"Our times are improving considerably every meet, which is particularly impressive given the tough practices we've had this week," said LHU head coach Andy Waeger. "They're great competitors."

Also picking up individual victories were junior Gerda Smirnova (Riga, Latvia/Ilguciema Usk.) in the 100 freestyle and freshman Kerri Grey (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) getting her first career win in the 100 breaststroke.

Greiniesen, Sujansky, Carneiro, Smirnova, Grey and the rest of the Lady Eagles hit the pool once again Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. when they travel to Penn State University-Altoona.
