The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams dominated their new conference rival in the pool on Friday afternoon, sweeping the TCU Horned Frogs in a Mountain West Conference dual meet. The Rebel men (2-0, 1-0) won by a score of 173-121 in their first league action of the year, while the UNLV women (2-1, 2-0) prevailed 170-130.

Johan Claar paced the Rebel men by winning three events on the afternoon, the 1000 free (9:30.42), the 200 fly (1:53.58), and the 500 free (4:39.31). The Rebels also had two double-event winners in Joe Bartoch and Jonas Andersson. Bartoch won the 100 free in a time of 46.32, and also claimed the 100 fly with a swim of 49.76, while Andersson won both the 100 and 200 breast in times of 58.15 and 2:06.27, respectively.

Also winning events for UNLV were Brandon Nelms in the 50 free (20.90), and Tamas Bosnyak (1:55.70). The Rebels took first in both the 200 medley relay (1:33.33) and in the 400 free relay (3:08.47).

Three Rebels all won two events each to pace the women's squad. Alison Zick led off the afternoon by swimming 10:27.33 in the 1000 free to claim first, and won the 500 free in 5:06.66. Amanda Weinbrecht swept the backstroke events, posting times of 58.31 in the 100 and 2:04.29 in the 200. The third double-winner was Bailey Kuestermeyer, winning the 200 breast (2:20.33) and the 200 IM (2:08.23).
