Greensboro, N.C. , November 26th, 2005

For the second consecutive week, Florida State senior Carrie Ellis earned Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week (announced on Monday, November 21). Ellis was named co-performer of the week with North Carolina's Whitney Sprague. Ellis earned the honor for the first time in her career just last week on Monday, November 14.

Ellis led No. 16 Florida State to a team title at the eight-team Georgia Tech Invitational, held November 18-20. The Valrico, Fla., native set a school record in the 100 free prelims with an NCAA A qualifying standard time of 49.32. She followed that up by winning the event with NCAA B cut time of 49.77. Ellis recorded a second NCAA A qualifying standard time of 22.83 in the 50 free prelims and then took first place in the finals of the event with an NCAA B cut time of 23.02.

Ellis also helped lead four Seminole relays to victories. The 200 free (1:31.59), 400 medley (3:43.43) and 200 medley (1:40.37) relays all recorded NCAA B cut times in their wins, while Ellis also helped the 800 free relay to a win with the time of 7:28.30.
