.: Patriot League Announces Swimming and Diving Weekly Honors

Army junior swimmer Efri Ruthenberg, Colgate freshman swimmer Lisa Marchi, Navy junior diver Kevin Teague and Army senior diver Chelsea Haviland were honored by the Patriot League as swimming and diving athletes of the week for the week of Oct. 24-30.

Ruthenberg led the Black Knights to a 178-113 win over Patriot League rival Colgate by winning three events. He won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.82, which was a season best, and also led a sweep for Army of the top three places. He also won the 100 freestyle with a time of 47:66, and the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:48.25.

Marchi lead the Raiders to a 168-131 victory of Patriot League foe Army by winning three individual events and a relay. On the day she set the freshman record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59:13 and swam the final leg of the 200 freestyle relay team that set another freshman record. She also posted a personal best in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:08.65, defeating her nearest competitor by nearly 11 seconds. Also, her 10:40.44 in the 1000 freestyle ranks seventh in Colgate history.

Teague won both the one and three-meter diving events in helping Navy to a 126-117 vicotry over UMBC. The wins improves his season record to 8-0. In the 1-M he scored 321.45 points, winning by 50 points. He also won the 3-M, scoring 362.02, points besting his nearest competitor by 62 points.

Haviland won both one and three-meter diving events in Army's 178-113 loss to Colgate. Her three-meter score of 304.88 broke the Army school record that stood since 1996. On the day she also won the 1-M scoring 292.73 points.
